Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Kapavi (kapaviHome) collects when you use kapavi.com, how we use it and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can, and we never sell your information.

What we collect, and when

• Browsing the website. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, records standard technical details such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to serve the site and protect it from abuse. The website itself does not use analytics or advertising trackers.
• Your shopping bag. The products and quantities you add are stored only in your browser's local storage. They are not sent to us until you choose to place an enquiry or order.
• Enquiries and orders. When you prepare an order or contact email, the website composes the message in your browser and hands it to your own email app. We receive your name, email address, phone number, delivery address and message only when you send that email. We use these details to answer you, confirm availability and arrange delivery.
• Payments. Where online payment is offered, it is handled by our payment partner, Cashfree Payments India Private Limited, on their secure pages. Cashfree receives your name, email address, phone number and the order amount to process the payment. We receive confirmation of payment and the order reference, never your card, UPI or bank details. When you pay online we also store your delivery details with the order so that we can dispatch it.

How we use your information

• To respond to your enquiry and process, pack and deliver your order.
• To contact you about your order, such as a delivery update or a stock problem.
• To handle returns, refunds and any complaint.
• To keep records that tax and consumer law require us to keep.

We do not send marketing messages unless you have asked for them, and you can ask us to stop at any time.

Who we share it with

We share only what each party needs: your name, address and phone number with the courier delivering your parcel; your order amount and reference with our payment partner; and your messages with the email service we use to reply. Each of these providers is bound to protect your information. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Order and invoice records are kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting rules require, usually eight years. Enquiry emails that do not lead to an order are deleted within twelve months. Bag contents stay in your browser until you remove them or clear your browser storage.

Cookies and local storage

The website sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie to distinguish real visitors from automated traffic. The shopping bag uses local storage, which stays on your device.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it where we are not required to keep it. You can also object to any use you are unhappy with. Write to hello@kapavi.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the grievance mechanisms available under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Security

The website is served over HTTPS, the owner's dashboard is protected by a separate sign-in, and customer details are kept in our business email and accounting systems with access limited to the people who process orders. Please do not include card numbers, passwords or other payment credentials in any email to us.
